Job Title: Internet Public Relations Specialist

Responsibilities: The Internet Public Relations Specialist serves as the primary online public relations point of contact and the main driving force behind all Internet public relations initiatives. The position works to promote the efforts of Full Sail University, its graduates, and all related events, special guests, online brand representation and corporate/industry partnerships to generate online attention, media interest, social media maintenance, and to drive traffic. The position will also handle general public relations duties as needed and be a contributing team member to the public relations department.

Internet PR Specific Job Functions:
• Create, develop and publish Social Media Releases (SMRs)
• Distribute SMRs through various social sites
• Develop new pitching strategies for online initiatives
• Work with established and new online social media sites
• Monitor Full Sail online reputation
• Maintain fullsail.edu Press Room with current news and releases
• Maintain content on all Full Sail branded social sites
• Comment monitoring for all Full Sail branded social sites
• Maintain PR reporting for leads generated or any Internet PR data driven initiative

Social Sites Currently Include:
• MySpace
• FaceBook
• Flickr
• YouTube
• Film Annex (Film Specific)
• VFX Connection (Digital Artist Database)

Internet PR Mission:
• Create Full Sail awareness on the World Wide Web
• Promote the activities of Full Sail, Full Sail graduates, instructors and staff

PR General Job Functions:

• Write press releases
• Media pitching
• Event management
• Media Liaison
• Daily Full Sail media clip search and archive
• Maintain news, contacts and projects in Vocus software
• Update Full Sail content for school directories and listings
• Distribute press releases through PR Web and Vocus
• Create unique URLs for PR efforts to track lead generation
• Create Press Release checklists and see all items to completion
• Assist Director of PR as needed

Education/Training: Bachelors Degree in Public Relations or Communications required with a strong Internet background

Skills Needed: Exceptional writing skills, Internet proficiency, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deadline oriented, strong people skills, background in Social Media needed, ability to pitch story angles, innovative and dynamic personality
