Job Title: Course Director – Optimization

Department: Education – Game Development Bachelor of Science
Responsibilities: The Faculty member will develop curriculum and teach the Optimization course in the Game Development Bachelor of Science Program. This course focuses on techniques required for increasing the frame rate of video game applications. By examining the relationship between the CPU, GPU and their architectures, students better understand how code and art affect their platform.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years professional experience in Game Development. Candidate will mentor students, attend faculty development workshops, and participate in campus activities including meetings, special events, behind-the-scenes tours and graduation.
All faculty will work directly from the Full Sail campus in Winter Park, FL.
Requirements: Understanding of modern micro architecture concepts such as instruction level parallelism, branch prediction, and automatic hardware pre-fetching. Understanding of modern GPU architecture concepts such as shaders, post-Geometry cache. Experience with Intel V-Tune and an understanding of multiple level cache systems and multi-core programming.
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years professional experience in Game Development.
Skills Needed: Expert proficiency in C++ Experience using tools PIX and PerfHUD, compiler development experience and Graphics driver development experience are a plus.
This is primarily a lecture position, so candidates must also demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills, with previous educational experience preferred. Applicants must have a proven ability to create effective and engaging course curriculum.
