Job Title: Lab Specialist - Flash

Description: We are seeking enthusiastic, fun, individuals, with exceptional web skills, to join our talented and growing web team of educators. In this role, you will help shape the instruction of our students as they progress through the new Web Design and Development Degree Program. Our future teammates will be self-motivated individuals that possess knowledge of web techniques and technologies coupled with a desire to share their unique talents.
As a Lab Specialist for the Flash courses, you will teach students the process of producing interactive Flash-based media projects. This course teaches skills required to produce an intricate Flash product and delivery it on multiple runtimes.
Responsibilities:
• Provide instruction to students and assist students with queries and requests for additional information
• Follow lesson plans and curriculum as outlined by Course Director
• Support the Course Director and help further their vision
• Support and cultivate the student body
• Ensure that the lab runs smoothly
• Ensure high student retention in lab
• Participate in monthly departmental meetings
Requirements:
• Extensive knowledge of the Flash CS 3 authoring environment
• Knowledge of advanced ActionScript 3.0 coding structures
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator
• Ability to deploy rich-media on the Web via Flash technologies
• Good design skills and the ability to transfer them to the web
• Knowledge of Flash animation and design
• Knowledge of Web Standards helpful
• Knowledge of Web validation helpful
• Knowledge of client-side and server-side integration helpful
Education/Training:
• Minimum of three years experience designing, developing, and producing web applications
• Bachelor’s Degree
Skills Needed:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated team member
• Ability to help develop lab curriculum
