Job Title: Lab Specialist – Art History

Job Type: Full Time

Department: Education - Film

Responsibilities: Full time Lab Specialist for the Art History Course in the Film Bachelor of Science Degree Program. This course introduces students to selected monuments of art and architecture in the Western tradition – from the Greco-Roman era to the twentieth century-studied in relation to the intellectual background of the ages and civilizations that produced them.

Duties include providing instruction to students and assisting students with queries and requests for additional information. Follow lesson plans and curriculum as outlined by Course Director. Support the Course Director and help further their vision. Support and cultivate the student body. Ensure that the lab runs smoothly. Ensure high student retention in lab. Participate in monthly departmental meetings.

Requirements: A Strong knowledge of Art History, computer experience, online communication and mentoring abilities.

The successful candidate must ensure excellence of personal service to students, maintain office hours for consultation, and communicate with students to settle inquiries relating to the course.
Confident, personable, caring individual with strong communication skills, good time-management abilities, and leadership qualities.

Education/Training: Master’s degree in Art and a minimum of 3 years experience in Art History.

Skills Needed: Candidates must be proficient in working with students, administration skills, and curriculum design. This is primarily a lecture position, so candidates must also demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills, with previous educational experience preferred.
