Instructor - Usability Course
Job Title: Course Director, Usability
Job Type: Full Time
Department: Education – Game Design Bachelor of Science
Responsibilities: The Faculty member will develop curriculum and teach the Usability course in the Game Design Bachelor of Science Program. The Usability Course explores the theoretical and practical methods used to improve game interfaces. Usability inspection is aimed at finding usability problems and providing design-relevant information to designers and engineers in the effort of making products easier to interact with and more efficient to use. In this course, students will understand usability and its considerations defining the usability trade-offs involved in the game design world. Some of the topics shall include generations of user interfaces, the usability engineering lifecycle, usability heuristics and usability testing methodologies.
Candidate will mentor students, attend faculty development workshops, and participate in campus activities including meetings, special events, behind-the-scenes tours and graduation.
All faculty will work directly from the Full Sail campus in Winter Park, FL.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years professional experience working in the Game Industry.
Education/Training: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and a minimum of 4 years professional Game Development experience.
Skills Needed: Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and online presentation skills, with previous educational experience preferred. Applicants must have a proven ability to create effective and engaging course curriculum.

Responsibilities: Associate Course Directors (ACDs) are valuable members of a teaching team, the foundation of Full Sail University. As teachers, the ACD’s primary responsibility is to instruct classes. To insure top service to Full Sail students, ACDs maintain office hours, participate in on-site training programs, attend department meetings, and enjoy working in a friendly, creative environment.
Requirements: Dedicated and talented teachers are needed to develop curriculum, prepare assessment and learning materials, and plan lessons. The ACD must be able to work 40 hours a week on weekdays, nights, and occasional weekends. Excellent communication skills are a must, as well as, organization abilities and basic computer expertise.
Education/Training: Preferred candidates must have minimum of an MA/MS in math, physics, or math education. Applicants in a math or science related field must have in excess of 30 credit hours in advanced math courses.
Skills Needed: Strong math and communication skills, knowledge of Adobe products, and Microsoft Office are needed. Since this is primarily a teaching position, candidates will be asked to demonstrate solid presentation skills as part of the interview process. Therefore candidates with previous educational experience will be interviewed in the first round.
