Instructor - Scripting for Web Applications

Description:
We are seeking enthusiastic, fun, individuals, with exceptional web skills, to join our talented and growing web team. In this role, you will help shape the instruction of our students as they progress through the Web Curriculum at Full Sail. Our future teammates will be self-motivated individuals that possess knowledge of web techniques and technologies coupled with a desire to share their unique talents.

As the Course Director for the Scripting for Web Applications course, you will teach students the technologies used to create dynamic content for the Web using client-side scripting. In addition to utilizing a client-side scripting language (JavaScript), students will explore using a combination of a valid markup language (XHTML), the presentation definition language (CSS), and the Document Object Model (DOM) to add dynamic behavior to a website using DHTML. This course focuses on the use of JavaScript to write functions that are embedded in or included from HTML pages and interact with the Document Object Model of the page to perform tasks not possible in HTML alone.


Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, develop, and implement course curriculum as defined by the Program Director
• Lecture to students and assist students with queries and requests for additional information
• Evaluate and grade the students’ progress through the course material
• Support and cultivate the student body
• Ensure high student retention of curriculum
• Participate in monthly departmental meetings
• Work with the Program Director on enhancing the quality of the course and the Web Department

Requirements:
• Extensive knowledge of client-side languages, including JavaScript
• Extensive knowledge of DHTML technologies
• Extensive knowledge of DOM
• Extensive knowledge in XHTML web development
• Extensive knowledge in CSS and Web Standards
• An understanding of validation and document type definitions
• Good design and layout skills
• Knowledge of Flash, Flash integration, and ActionScript 3.0 helpful
• Knowledge of server-side integration helpful

Education/Training:

• Minimum of three years experience designing, developing, and producing web applications
• Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities: The Associate Course Director is responsible for assisting the Course Director in handling, preparation and presentation of course material, as well as proper management of course curriculum and instructional staff. This includes but is not limited to: teaching, instructional planning, curriculum and program development, advising students, and participation in campus activities.

Requirements: Job requirements include a Master’s Degree in English Composition or Creative Writing with a minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate-level English courses. Also sought, but not required, is teaching experience and experience in an entertainment and/or media field. Must be able to work flexible hours. The successful candidate must ensure excellence of personal service to students, maintain office hours for consultation, and communicate with students to settle inquiries relating to the course.

In this course, students gain a thorough understanding of digital video and audio CODECs, along with target encoding rates, for optimal playback on the web.

Instructor - Digital Mastering

Job Title: Course Director – Digital Mastering

Job Type: Full Time

Department: Education – Audio Program

Responsibilities: The Audio Program of Full Sail University is seeking a Course Director for Digital Mastering. This person will lead a team in teaching a project-oriented class that will explore both creative and technical applications of advanced music editing and mastering for both CD and DVD, including standards and practices of the mastering industry.

The successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities including teaching and advising undergraduate students, and must be able to supervise lab support personnel.

Responsibilities will include:
• Plan, design, develop, implement, and maintain course curriculum as defined by the Program Director
• Lecture to students and assist students with queries and requests for additional information
• Evaluate and grade the students’ progress through the course material
• Ensure high student retention of curriculum
• Supervise lab staff
• Engage in ongoing research and professional development to ensure curriculum is representative of current industry practices and student needs
• Participate in departmental meetings, budget preparation, and other company functions as designated by the Program Director.


Requirements: A minimum of four years experience with professional music mastering and a Bachelor’s degree is required, in-field preferred. Applicant must have a strong background in mastering for the music industry, along with a working technical knowledge of standard mastering equipment, studios, monitoring systems, and acoustics.

Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years professional experience in music mastering.

Skills Needed: Applicants must have a proven ability to create effective and engaging course curriculum. This is primarily a lecture position, so candidates must also demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills. Teaching experience is desired but not required.
